This listing is for one 1 KING ARTHUR (PENDRAGON) COPPER HALF-AS Here is a copper coin done in classic late-Roman 5th century style. Same design as silver piece (see my other listings) slightly smaller but thicker, done in 5 grams of pure copper and denominated as one half the old Roman denomination of an "as". Issued to celebrate Arthur's great victory at Badon Hill. Inscribed in romanesque Latin "ARTORIUS DUX BELLORUM BRIT" (meaning: Arthur, war leader of the Britons) on obverse and MONS BADONIS with the Camelot mint mark PCAM. The coin has an "antique" finish to it, making it look and feel like it truly is from the "old world" These wonderful fantasy coins are unfortunately no longer being produced, and are difficult to find. The creator of them is an extremely creative man, with a background in sword-making. He has many different fantasy coins out there, amoungst which are also the very creative Lord of the Rings Shire coins - also no longer being produced (see my other liastings for some of those). We are hoping that in the furure he will once again start to make some more coins, but for now, these are very rare, and worthy of any collection.
